Today is the birthday of Lord Shakyamuni Buddha according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar (Eighth day of the Fourth Lunar month.)
It is to commemorate the birth of the Prince Siddhartha Gautama. He awakened at the age of 35 after meditating for 49 days. He, the founder of the Buddhist religion, is called Buddha Shakyamuni. “Shakya” is the name of the royal family into which he was born, and “Muni” means “Able One.”
On this auspicious day, I would like to share with all students and disciples of Rinpoche that henceforth, Rinpoche’s official name will be ‘Sing-ha Thekchen Namdrol Rinpoche’.
This was conferred on him by His Eminence the 6th Kyabje Jhado Rinpoche on 10 April 2017 when Jhado Rinpoche was designing the official spiritual seal for Namdrol Rinpoche.
We pray that all lineage gurus have strong, stable and healthy lives.
May the world be happy and Dharma flourish
May there be goodness, peace, and auspiciousness always
May all be awakened
